Andrew(anders) Hagborg(hansson) 1871–1905

When Andrew was 20 he was brought to Winnipeg by his eldest brother Borje.

Andrew worked for Borje delivering water, selling it by the pail to city hotels

and restaurants, hauling it from artesian wells northwest of the city. In 1895

he married Johanna Wall who came to Winnipeg when she was 16 and worked at

Jerry Robinson's home. After their marriage Andrew worked at Arctic Ice Co. and

Johanna kept a boarding house. In 1899 they bought a farm and moved to

Starbuck. Andrew continued to work at Arctic Ice in the winter. In 1903 they

bought 240 acres at Meadows from Mr. Osterberg. They moved to Meadows in 1903

via horse and buggy. Andrew died of pneumonia in 1905 while Johanna was

pregnant with Andy. Johanna married a hired hand Victor Carlson in 1907.
